I purchased this switch as a replacement to one that became unreliable due to dirty or oxidized contacts. A good feature is that at 2 inches long, this switch is half the size of the one I was replacing. It is also universal since it has both "normally open" and "normally closed" contact options. However, this switch also came with a weak magnet that required very close proximity (unreliable at ¼ inch) for the switch to open (close) compared to the one I was replacing. I ended up using the old magnet to trigger the new switch and the combination works well. I recommend this switch only for applications with less than ¼ inch gap for reliability.

Make sure you need a low voltage switch or this is not the product for you. Will work to switch 110V with a relay and a little work! I ended up purchasing a larger white magnetic switch from an electronics distributor which had a stronger magnet in it and was a little larger and more suited to my application (which still required a relay!) I found no 110V magnetic switches available. I realize I can't really review this products reliability or proper functioning but wanted to put a 'buyer beware' notice for the reasons above. Also, the packaging mentions that this is an automotive device.

Works fine, easy to hook up due to having both normally-open and normally-closed wiring options. Works fine within an inch or so of separation.
